The "Daughter" character was too overplayed, in my opinion, but I was *floored* at the fate of some of the regulars, e.g. Richard, Eddie, and Gillian. Killer miniseries from HBO.

Another excellent season. I never cease to be amazed at the quality of this production-the acting, writing, directing, sets, and costumes are all just amazing.

The series still sustains high production values, interesting characters, and unremitting gangster action.

Series is still maintaining high quality production and nice interweaving of real and ficticious storylines in 1924. The Jazz age is detailed nicely by the Cotton Club-like Onyx Club and performer Margot Bingham. Interesting to see where this goes next season. Steve Buscemi leads an excellent cast.

Stories on the organized crimes were getting a bit stale though a few new thugs were introduced ... and all outperformed by Daughter Maitland.

Oscar: Your Bluetick gone.
Chalky: What?
Oscar: She gone.
Chalky: How you know that?
Oscar: I know every sound this house make...including the leaving kind.

Eli: You grow up in our house? Newspapers for blankets, stolen potatoes for supper ... or nothing ... that night or the next. You don't forget.

I am Dr. Valentine Narcisse. Though I am not from here, I am of here, just as I am of anywhere the Libyan makes his home. There is a scourge in our community in the guise of heroin. There is a scourge in the guise of alcohol. The true scourge, however, is not disguised at all. That scourge is apathy on the part of your leader. … I know your Mr. White. Know him better than he realizes. He's a good man, but a man whose true purpose has been clouded by misguided ambition … and with the assistance of Mr. Purnsley, I have come to breathe new life into this community, to aid those who seek betterment to abrogate those who would hold us back. With Deacon Cuffy, we shall restore this community to its full and glorious potential.

Sally: ... turns out they're stashing heroin in with your hooch and trucking it north. Nucky: And you know this how?
Sally: A girl has her ways.
Nucky: You tell anyone besides McCoy?
Sally: I prefer to live near the swamp, not in it.
Nucky: Well, keep him close by.
Sally: Do I have to?
Nucky: Yes. ... And, Sally, I owe you one.
Sally: And don't think I don't know it, sport.
