Exceptional film. Mads Mikkelsen is superb, as always. Lucas's plight is heart-wrenching. Highly recommended.

A wonderful film on the absolutely devasting effect on what happens when an accusation of child abuse is made. Even when you are completely innoccent the taint remains.

I agree with RDL. Ultimate garbage, too many holes to believe this story. His suggested plot would have made a better film.

Great story and excellent acting...in a closely knitted community, the school teacher who was wrongly accused of child abuse was treated like a outcast despite that he was acquitted of the charge and was innocent. My heart bled for him! Watching this movie has made me more tolerance and sympathetic to those who are accused or fallen.

I have to agree hugely with “RDL”, that whole part with the school system seemed way to contrived, the weakest part of the movie. Still, there is enough in this movie to make it worth watching and make it an excellent movie. I didn’t like how the movie left us in the dark with a lot of the legal matters and what was the actual verdict?? Worth watching though.

Objective truth falls prey to mob mentality when a male kindergarten teacher is falsely accused of sexual abuse by one overly imaginative 5-year old girl. Although Lucas steadfastly proclaims his innocence he finds himself caught up in a botched investigation which not only presumes him guilty until proven guilty but also encourages the child to embellish her own story even after she tries to tell the truth. Things quickly escalate as a form of mass parental hysteria takes over in which every child in the class is seen as a potential victim and Lucas, his passionate denials ignored, becomes a despised pariah. An emotionally volatile drama featuring a taut, believable script and amazing performances all around. Be sure to stay for the last frame as a seemingly upbeat ending is checked by a sad reminder that the stigma of “child molester” is not so easily shaken off.

Scary how the child is believed so completely and we never learn if the child is called out as a liar. A thought provoking movie. Not of children under 12.
