When I read that this novel took place in one single day, I wasn't sure I'd like it. But it covers more than one day; Julie, the protagonist, thinks back to many things that have happened in her life, so there is a lot of filling in of the story of her life and those around her. I had a little trouble adjusting to the jumping around bits, but after I got used to it, I got really caught up in the stories. Much is unanswered at the end of this book, but much is also answered. Kind of like life...

I thought it was ok only. Read it on a trip when I only wanted to carry paperbacks.

This novel is short & spectacular - it has it all : terrific character development, complex & interwoven plot, sharp dialogue, excitement, imagery, love.

Just read it.
