In That is Not a Good Idea! Mo Willems takes the art of silent films and applies it to picture books. A dapper fox has spied a beautiful goose walking the city streets. Each image is devoid of text, we only see what they are saying on black pages in between the action.

"Excuse me. Would you care to go for a stroll?" inquires the fox as he tips his hat. Suddenly, the film is interrupted. "That is NOT a good idea!" exclaims a baby goose.

My 5 year od granddaughter absolutely loved it! She begged me to keep re-reading it, which we did 8 times before returning it to the library. The book was a good way for us to discuss "stranger danger" without leaving the child upset and scared when done.

Presented in the format of an old silent film, That is Not a Good Idea talks about stranger awareness through the actions of a naive goose, and the chicks among the audience who know better. There is a twist in the end though, which is surprising, yet still relevant to the lesson.

This simple picture book is styled like the silent films of days gone by, and is a good lesson about stranger danger.
