Awesome book! While at a skate park with his friend, Derek, a 12 year old, meets a man who is looking for a stunt double for the most popular teen actress (yes, actress), Tanya Billings. Derek is so excited to perform dangerous stunts on film, but there are downsides. First he has to have a tutor, then his former best friend puts a humiliating video of him online, and, on top of that, his beloved monkey that he's fostering disappears. I think Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Big Nate, and Timmy Failure lovers would love Janet Tashjian's exciting sequel.

-while doing stunts on his skateboard, 12 year old Derek is noticed by a stuntman, then is hired as a body double for the latest teen sensation (a girl, nonetheless!)…but… now he has a homework tutor to help with his reading, his best friend posts an embarrassing video of him on YouTube, and his adopted monkey goes missing

The margins are filled with Derek’s stick figure cartoons (which are drawn by the author’s 15 year old son) that illustrate vocabulary words that help Derek with his reading

Great book for Wimpy kid lovers (who are looking for more of the same)
